Type locality. Ben Lomond, Otago.

Broun number: 3746.

Type material examined. 1 ex. Holotype (NHM): card-mounted, mounted on glass slide pinned together with the specimen, “Holo- \ type” [round label with red border], “3746.” [in Broun’s hand], “Lomond \ Dec. 1912.“ [in Broun’s hand], New Zealand. [red underline] \ Broun Coll. \ Brit. Mus. \ 1922-482.”, “ Cyphon \ cinctipennis. [sic]” [in Broun’s hand], “Holotype \ Cyphon cincticollis \ Broun \ det. T. Nyholm 1981” [in Nyholm’s hand].

Remarks. Broun (1915) studied a single specimen collected by A. Philpott early in December 1913 [sic, 1912 according to the label] at Ben Lomond, Otago. According to Nyholm (2000) this species belongs to an undescribed genus.
