Diagnosis. Length 1.4–1.8 mm. Body (Fig. 1 H) reddish brown to dark brown; elytra and legs paler than other parts. Head. Subquadrate, about 1.1 times as wide as long, widest at middle, slightly narrower than pronotum; eyes moderately large and slightly prominent, about 1.1–1.2 times as long as temples; gular sutures moderately separated, diverged basally; infraorbital carina complete. Antennae slightly longer than head and pronotum combined; antennomeres 1–3 elongate, 1 about as long as 11, 4–10 subquadrate to slightly transverse, 11 longest, slightly longer than preceding two combined. Thorax. Pronotum approximately 1.3 times as wide as long, widest in apical third; hypomera fully visible in lateral aspect. Elytra slightly transverse, slightly wider than pronotum; elytron approximately 1.6 times as long as wide; postero-lateral margin almost straight. Abdomen. Subparallelsided, widest at middle; surface glossy and densely pubescent, with coarse punctures; male tergite VIII with four macrosetae on each side of midline, posterior margin triangularly emarginate; posterior margin of male sternite VIII convex, slightly rounded; posterior margin of female tergite VIII slightly emarginate; posterior margin of female sternite VIII slightly emarginate in median region. Aedeagus. Median lobe elongate, widest in basal fourth, apical process parallel-sided and blunt at apex in ventral aspect. Spermatheca. Securiform; duct short.

Type material. Syntype, 1♂, labeled as follows: ‘5474, sordidula Er. Bereol Schupp’; 1 ex., His.-Coll. (Coleoptera) Nr. 5474, Homalota sordidula Er. Berolin., Schuppel Zool. Mus. Berlin.

Material examined. NORTH KOREA: 2 exx., Korea Jongak-san Phjongjang-si, lg. Pawlowski, 8. 1971 [North Korea, Pyeongannam Prov., Pyeongyang-si, Mt. Yongaksan, viii 1971, J. Pawlowski]; 3 exx., Korea 16- 18.6.74 Kymgang-san Mts. Exp. Inst.Zool. Cr. [North Korea, Gangwon Prov., Mt. Geumgangsan, 16–18 vi 1974, ISEA]; 2 exx., Korea 1981 Kymgangsan A. Szeptycki [North Korea, Gangwon Prov., Mt. Geumgangsan, 1981, A. Szeptycki].

Distribution. Korea (North), China (Xinjiang), Kazhkstan, Russia (Central European Territory, East Siberia, North European Territory, South European Territory, West Siberia), Turkey, Europe and Oriental region.

Remarks. This species was recorded by Paśnik (2001) in North Korea and no specimen has been collected in South Korea.
