Ammophila insignis F. Smith, 1856

Distribution in Iran: West Azerbaijan (Sakenin et al. 2011a).

General distribution: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Central African Republic, Chad, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Libya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Africa, Syria, Tanzania, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Zaire.

Remarks: The subspecies Ammophila insignis egregia Mocsáry, 1881 has been recorded from Iran (Sakenin et al. 2011a).
