Description

Terebra brevicula Deshayes, 1859

Deshayes, 1859: 296.

Type locality: ‘La Terre de Van Diemen’.

Label locality: ‘Van Diemen’s Land’.

Type material: 2 probable syntypes NHMUK 197985 (H. Cuming collection). In Cernohorsky, (1969: 213) ‘ 2 specimens present (…) but neither corresponds with Deshayes’ given size’.

Remarks: ‘ Santa Maria Bay, south Angola, West Africa’ designated as type locality by Bratcher & Cernohorsky (1987: 172).
