Capitites augur (Frauenfeld, 1857)
Trupanea augur Frauenfeld, 1857: 557. Syntypes. Egypt (Sinai: Tor) (NHMW). Type missing (V. Korneyev, personal communication).
Trypanea kingi Bezzi, 1924b: 145. Syntypes. Sudan (Kodroko) (BMNH).
Trypanea (Goniurellia) ensina Hendel, 1927a: 200. Holotype. Egypt (Luxor) (NHMW).
Trypanea rostrata Hendel, 1931b: 11. Holotype. Sudan (Egypt: Wadi Beida) (ESEC).
Distribution. AF: Cape Verde Is., Eritrea, Sudan. OR: India. PA: Egypt, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia.
Egyptian localities. Egyptian localities. Common throughout the country, particularly in: Coastal Strip:
Alexandria, Mariout, Mersa Matrouh, Nuzha. Eastern Desert: Fayed, Gebel Asfar, Ghoubet El-Boos, Port Said,
Serapium, Suez Road, Wadi Abu Nossour, Wadi Garawi, Wadi Gharagid, Wadi Hoff, Wadi Rashid, Wadi Rishrash,
Wadi Um Biar (Near Qussair), Wadi Um Elek, Wadi Zohleiga. Gebel Elba: Wadi Aideib. Lower Nile Valley and
Delta: Abu Rawash, Barrage, Cairo, Ezbet El-Nakhl, Faraskour, Giza, Helwan, Kafr Hakim, Kerdassa, Maadi,
Maxghouna, Shubra, Tisfa, Wardan. Sinai: Ain Gedeirat, Taba, Wadi Gedeirat, Wadi Tih. Western Desert: Kharga Oasis, Siwa, Wadi El-Natroun. Upper Nile Valley: Aswan, Komombo. Host plants. Fleabane (Pulicaria crispa (Forssk.) Oliv.). Source: Freidberg & Kugler (1989). Other plants from which flies were swept. Zygophyllum (Zygophyllum coccineum L.). Source: Efflatoun (1924a).
