Lonchaea Fallén, 1820a: 25. Type species: Musca chorea Fabricius, 1781, by subsequent designation (Westwood 1840: 150). Lonchoea Say, 1830: 188. Misspelling of Lonchaea Fallén.

Teremyia Macquart, 1835b: 514. Type species: Lonchaea laticornis Meigen, 1826.

Lonchea Rondani, 1856: 119. Misspelling of Lonchaea Fallén.

Teremya Schiner, 1868: 227. Misspelling of Teremyia Macquart.

Theremya Rondani, 1874: 268. Misspelling of Teremyia Macquart.

Mastigimas Enderlein, 1927: 105. Type species: Mastigimas togoensis Enderlein, 1927, original designation. Tricholonchaea Czerny, 1934: 21. Type species: Lonchaea albitarsis Zetterstedt, 1838, original designation. Lasiolonchaea Enderlein, 1936: 152. Type species: Lonchaea hirticeps Zetterstedt, 1837, monotypy. Togocesa Kocak & Kemal, 2010: 7. A new name for Mastigimas Enderlein.
