Rabaulichthys stigmaticus Randall & Pyle, 1989

Holotype: BPBM 32751, 49.8 mm SL, male.

Type locality: western Indian Ocean, Maldives, Ari Atoll, east side of reef north of Bathala Island, depth 35 meters. Illustrations: Kuiter, 2004:84 (middle fig.); Randall & Pyle, 1989:7, figs. 1 & 2; Randall & Walsh, 2010:209, fig. 1G.

D: X, 16. A: III, 7. P: 20. C: 15 (8 + 7). V: 26 (10 + 16). S: 2. GR: 32 or 33 (9 + 23 or 24). LL: 52 to 55. CP: 28 or 29.

Distribution: western & central Indian Ocean: Mauritius, Maldives, and Sri Lanka.
