Pseudanthias townsendi (Boulenger, 1897)

Anthias townsendi Boulenger, 1897

Holotype: BMNH 1897.9.22.1, 67 mm SL.

Type locality: Mekran coast, Iran. Illustrations: Heemstra & Akhilesh, 2012:160 (fig. 52), 161 (fig. 53); Kuiter, 2004:32, figs. A–D.

D: X, 15 to 17. A: III, 7. P: 16 to 18. C: 15. V: 26 (10 + 16 or 11 + 15). S: 2 or 3. GR: 10 or 11 + 25 to 28. LL: 37 to 42. CP: 22 to 24.

Distribution: northwestern Indian Ocean: Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, and Arabian Sea.
