Psammodesmus atratus: Hoffman 1960: 29, fig. 1e (descriptive notes; taxonomic comments); Martínez-Torres 2016: 55, Anex. 7 figs 25, 37A, 38A, 39A, 40A, 41A, 42A, 43A, 44A, 45A (description; type information; distribution data).
Types: ♂ holotype, ♀ syntype from Colombia: " 300 miles up the Atrato River, in the woods"; X-1896. Initially at the ANSP, cat. no. 9958, it is currently lost (Martínez-Torres 2016).
Distribution: Western Colombia.
