Aphalaroidinae Vondráček 1963

Description

Aphalaroidinae

Yangus hyalinus (Mathur, 1975), comb. nov.

Yangus chiasiensis Fang, 1990, syn. nov.

Distribution. India: Tamil Nadu (Mathur 1975, as Psylla hyalina; Kandasamy 1986, as Psylla hyalina); Uttarakhand (Mathur 1975), as Psylla hyalina).

Host plant. Albizia procera (Fabaceae). Mathur (1975) and Kandasamy (1986) listed also adult specimens from Cassia siamea (Fabaceae) which may, however, not be a host.

Comments. Psylla hyalina Mathur, 1975 belongs to the genus Yangus Fang, 1990 (Psyllidae, Aphalaroidinae). We propose the following new combination: Yangus hyalinus (Mathur, 1975), comb. nov. from Psylla. Y. hyalinus and Yangus chiasiensis Fang, 1990 from Taiwan (Fang 1990) are morphologically identical and share the same host plant. They are synonymised here as Yangus hyalinus (Mathur, 1975) = Yangus chiasiensis Fang, 1990, syn. nov.
