Desmopuntius pentazona (Boulenger, 1894) BE
Barbodes hexazona (non-Weber and de Beaufort): Eden, 1984: 183 (very common in Brunei, in streams and drainage ditches).
Puntius pentazona (Boulenger, 1894): Kottelat & Lim, 1995: 233 (Tutong and Belait Districts); Parenti & Meisner, 2003: 42 (upper, middle and lower Belait); Sulaiman & Shahdan, 2003: 63 (Tasek Merimbun); Sulaiman & Ramlee, 2007: 23 (Tasek Merimbun).
Puntius johorensis (non-Duncker): Sulaiman & Shahdan, 2003: 63 (Tasek Merimbun).
Systomus hexazona (non-Weber and de Beaufort): Sulaiman & Shahdan, 2007: 26 (Tasek Merimbun).
