Description
Panulirus argus (Latreille, 1804)
Material examined. Petro-UFS—2 (1 M); CL: 56.41 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00083.
Stations. Petro-UFS—1 and 17.
Distribution. Western Atlantic—USA (from North Carolina to Florida, Bermuda, Gulf of Mexico), Central America, Antilles, the north of South America, and Brazil (Fernando de Noronha, Atol das Rocas, and from Pará to São Paulo (Melo 1999).
Ecological notes. On coral reefs, among rocks, and sponges. Found up to 90 m depth. Lives in groups (Melo 1999).
