Diagnosis. Forewing length is 10.5–11 mm in males and 12–12.5 mm in females. Barsine kuatunensis is externally very similar to the allopatric B. takamukui and can be differed from it by the genitalia structure only. The male genitalia of B. kuatunensis differ from those of B. takamukui by the valva being broader distally, the basally broader medial costal process, the slightly larger ventral diverticulum, and the presence of a medial row of small cornuti in vesica. The female genitalia of B. kuatunensis differ from those of B. takamukui by their slightly larger corpus bursae having signum (that is absent in B. takamukui), and smaller appendix bursae.

Distribution. South China (Sichuan, Fujian, Guangdong) (Fang 2000; Kishida 2011) and North Vietnam.
