Description

Genus Synamphichaeta Villeneuve, 1936

Synamphichaeta Villeneuve, 1936: 146. Type species: Synamphichaeta tricincta Villeneuve, 1936.

Diagnosis. Eye bare; head with two reclinate upper fronto-orbital setae; facial ridge with erect setae; parafacial bare; prosternum setose; first postsutural supra-alar seta longer than notopleural setae; lateral scutellar setae nearly as long as subapical scutellar setae; tegula and basicosta black; wing vein R 4+5 setose to beyond crossvein r-m; cell r 4+5 closed at wing margin or with a very short petiole.
