Schmidt reaction of trans-3-benzylflavanones : Formation of 3-benzyl-2- phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzoxazepin-5(4H)ones having both cis and trans configurations

On treatment with NaN₃/c.H₂SO₄-HOA_c, trans-3-benzylnavanones yield ring expansion products with alkyl
migration and having either cis or both cis and trans configurations.
