Distribution: Global: Atlantic Ocean; from Portugal to Angola, including the western Mediterranean, in the eastern Atlantic, and from Nova Scotia, Canada, to Uruguay in the western Atlantic; entering estuaries and littoral lagoons and ascending river courses; Costa Rica: To and Ma (Atlantic), 0– 5 m.a.s.l., Per, Dia.
Occurrence and conservation status: Nat, LC.
