Publish Review Curate Science Communication

Preprints, once marginalized in all but a few disciplines, are now flourishing in traditionally resistant fields. Researchers across regions and disciplines are demanding shorter and shorter review times on work that’s ever more timely. An emergent model, often described as Publish, Review, Curate (PRC), is shifting the Overton window on what constitutes a valuable contribution to knowledge and presents a chance to change course towards a system that’s more open, flexible, and resistant to the corporatization of knowledge. But there are challenges. This poster aims to invite conference attendees into a discussion about the barriers and hesitations they face to publishing in a more open, collaborative manner. The feedback gathered in these conversations is vital to ensuring that processes and infrastructures developed by groups such as PREReview, Peer Community In…, Sciety, and the Knowledge Futures Group are aligned with researcher goals and address their needs.
