Description

Objective: to identify in the scientific literature the role of the Nursing team in Material and Sterilization Centers (CME). Methodology: this is an integrative literature review carried out through studies available in the Virtual Health Library, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences and Scientific Electronic Library Online. The criteria established for inclusion in this research were: complete and original studies available for free, publication period of the last 10 years (2011 to 2021) in Portuguese and English. The following descriptors were used: “Sterilization OR Sterilization”, “Central OR Central Supply Warehouse”, “Nursing OR Nursing” for the election of scientific articles. Data were analyzed descriptively. Results: four articles were identified, addressing the practice of nursing professionals in the materials and sterilization center and quality indicators of the materials and sterilization center. Conclusion: It is essential to improve studies for the development of research aimed at the Material and Sterilization Center, thus producing significant evidence to improve the subject. The visibility of employees in the sector leads to a perception of inferior status in the hospital organization.
