A WISE view on extreme AGB stars

Description
Based on a WISE colour selection of known very red carbon stars (those with a flat MIR continuum or SiC in absorption) and known Galactic oxygen-rich AGB stars with periods over 1000 days, a sample of 1992 stars was selected for which the time series data from WISE and NEOWISE was investigated.
