Lampanyctus crocodilus (Risso, 1810)

Gasteropelecus crocodilus Risso, 1810: 357. Type locality: Nice, Mediterranean coast of France. Lampanyctus crocodilus, Golani, 1994: 37; Goren & Galil, 1997: 201, 2002: 151.

Distribution. Northern Atlantic, Mediterranean; depth range 0–1192 m. In the Levant, the maximum known depth is 1480 m (Golani, 1994).
