Bearded Eelpout. To 22 cm (8.7 in) TL (Eric Miller, pers. comm. to M.L.). Northern Oregon (45°46’N, 124°40’W) (Personal communication: University of Washington, Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture Fish Collection, Seattle, Washington) to between Islas San Benito and Isla de Cedros (28°17’N, 115°28’W), central Baja California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Published reports of occurrence in the Bering Sea are mistaken (Mecklenburg et al. 2002). Benthic; depth: 45–472 m (148–1,548 ft) (min.: Personal communication: Southern California Coastal Water Research Project, Westminster, California. Unpublished data from their trawl surveys; max.: Shelly Moore, pers. comm. to M.L.).
