24,25-Dihydrolimocinol, a new triterpenoid from fresh fruits of Melia azadirachta

A new triterpenoid, identified as 24,25-dihydrolimocinol, has been isolated from fresh fruits of Melia azadirachta. Zafaral, which was earlier reported from its leaves, has also been isolated from fruits, this time along with several known limonoids. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic evidences and chemical transformations.
