Description

Predavanje će uključiti prikaz metoda za merenje i analizu elektrofizioloških signala i to električne potencijale skeletnih mišića – elektromiogram (EMG), srca – elektrokardiogram (EKG) i električne potencijale glatkih mišića želuca – elektrogastrogram (EGG).

The presentation for the invited lecture that was held on October 27, 2021, at the invitation of the President of the Scientific Collegium of the Laboratory of Physics 010 at the Institute of Nuclear Sciences of the Vinča, University in Belgrade, Dr. Miloš Đorđević, Senior Research Associate.

Abstract in English

This talk will summarize trends in research and development in biomedical engineering with practical examples in medicine, psychology, automotive industry, and space medicine. It will focus on methods for measuring and analyzing the following electrophysiological signals: the electrical potentials of skeletal muscles - electromyogram (EMG), heart - electrocardiogram (ECG), and electrical potentials of stomach smooth muscles - electrogastrogram (EGG). The talk will present applications of selected methods for assessment of the neuromuscular system in people with injuries of the central nervous system, in psychology for emotion recognition, in the automotive industry for the assessment of nausea while driving a simulator or automated vehicle, and for the health of astronauts. Biosignals i.e., electrical potentials, in addition to being measured and analyzed for research and application in clinical practice, can be induced externally by electrical pulses produced via electrical stimulator – a device that generates controlled electrical current or voltage pulses at its output. The talk will touch on the application of electrical stimulation for rehabilitation and in space medicine.
