Description
Istiophorus platypterus (Shaw in Shaw & Nodder 1792) —Indo-Pacific sailfish
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens observed by Jeff Kinch during CFMDP Survey at Kavieng fish market in 2004–2005.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Red Sea and Indo-West Pacific. Oceanic and epipelagic, 0–200 m depth. Marine.
