Description

Paragobiodon xanthosoma (Bleeker 1853) —Golden coralgoby

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Carteret Harbour, New Ireland as Gobius amiciensis Valenciennes in Cuvier & Valenciennes (1837: 135), based on MNHN material. NTUM 11422 (1 specimen, St. KR 16, 4 June 2014).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 3.—General distribution: East Africa east to Marshall Islands and Samoa, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to Lord Howe Island. Found among branching corals, 2–10 m depth. Marine.
