Description
Petroscirtes xestus Jordan & Seale 1906—Smooth fangblenny
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 26 Aug. 2008 and 24 May 2009; another specimen photographed at St. KVG19 (Bagail Bay, Kavieng District) by Serge Andréfouët on 19 Aug. 2014.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: East Africa east to Micronesia, Line Islands and Samoa, north to Philippines, south to northern Australia. Found on sand or in seagrass habitats, 1–5 m depth. Marine.
