Description
Istiblennius lineatus (Valenciennes in Cuvier & Valenciennes 1836) —Lined rockskipper
Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Emirau Island, St. Mathias Group by Kailola (1975: 200). KFRS material.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 4.—General distribution: Laccadive and Maldive islands east to Marshall Islands and Pitcairn, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found in groups on rocky shores and exposed intertidal areas, 0–3 m depth. Marine.
