Description
Cirrhilabrus exquisitus Smith 1957 —Exquisite fairy-wrasse
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens observed in Kavieng Lagoon by Jeff Kinch during ACIAR Aquarium Survey in 2013 (see Teitelbaum et al. 2013: 15); a specimen observed at Nemto Island, New Hanover, 4–15 m depth, St. T 23, on 7 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: East Africa east to Line and Tuamotu islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia. Found in mixed coral-rubble habitats of seaward reef slopes, 5–30 m depth. Marine.
