Pterocaesio marri Schultz in Schultz, Herald, Lachner, Welander & Woods 1953 —Marr's fusilier
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed at St. KVG20 (east of Enuk Island, Kavieng District) by Serge Andréfouët on 20 Aug. 2014.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: East Africa, north to Seychelles and western Mascarenes east to Marshall Islands and Marquesas Islands, Australia north to southern Japan and Ogasawara Islands, south to southern Indonesia, New Guinea and Tonga. Schooling near coastal, lagoon and seaward coral reefs, 1–30 m depth. Marine.
