Decapterus macarellus
Description
Decapterus macarellus (Cuvier in Cuvier & Valenciennes 1833) —Mackerel scad
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens observed at Kavieng fish market in 2004–2005 by Jeff Kinch during CFMDP Survey.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Circumtropical, in western Pacific Ocean north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Found in clear water near reefs, 0–200 m depth. Marine.
