Pseudamia hayashii Randall, Lachner & Fraser 1985 —Hayashi's cardinalfish
Status at New Ireland. New record of this taxon from New Ireland; previously reported from Ysabel Pass, New Hanover as Pseudamia sp. by Kailola (1975: 112).
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Gulf of Aden; eastern Indonesia east to Micronesia and Samoa, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Solitary, nocturnal, in coastal, lagoon and seaward coral reefs, 2–64 m depth. Marine.
