Zenion japonicum Kamohara 1934 —Japanese dory (Fig. 32)

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM material (2 specimens, St. CP 4420-15, CP4420-20, northeast of New Hanover; 2 specimens, St. CP 4421-12-13, northeast of New Hanover; 2 specimens, St. CP 4437- 11-12, northeast of New Hanover; 1 specimen, St. CP 4438-18, northeast of New Hanover; 3 specimens, St. CP 4446-15-17, north of New Hanover; 1 specimen, St. CP 4498-6, north of New Hanover).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Pacific Ocean: South China Sea east to Chile, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Bathydemersal, 200–1000 m depth. Marine.
