Description
Hirundichthys albimaculatus (Fowler 1934) —Whitespot flyingfish
Status at New Ireland. New record; previously misidentified from Cape St. George, New Ireland as Hirundichthys affinis (non Günther, 1866) by Munro (1958: 138).
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 3.—General distribution: Philippines and New Guinea east to Hawaiian Islands. Epipelagic in oceanic waters, 0–20 m depth. Marine.
