Computer language didactics is analyzed as a branch of language didactics that studies the theory and practice of using computers in teaching a foreign language. The existence of advantages of multimedia presentations in language didactics is proved. The specific features of Web 2.0 are defined as the ability to quickly create content; editable; opportunity to work together on any project; possibility of communication; the ability to store bulky information online instead of electronic media.
The purpose of the article is to analyze the main problems of language didactics in the process of teaching foreign languages.
It is stated that the use of computer technology in the educational process of higher education institutions activates the attention and memory of higher education students, expands their worldview, develops communication skills.
It is proved that the inability of the teacher-practitioner to influence the quality and improvement of software products is considered to be a shortcoming in solving problems related to the development of computer educational programs in foreign language teaching.
It is stated that computer technologies used by foreign language teachers are: use of Internet sites for foreign language teaching; use of Skype, Zoom in foreign language learning; search by the teacher of additional information on the Internet for its use during classes; search by applicants for higher education on the instructions of the teacher of additional information on the Internet; use of blogs for independent language learning.
Conclusions. 1. Computer language didactics is a branch of language didactics that studies the theory and practice of using computers in language teaching. 2. In modern theory and practice of teaching foreign languages, Internet resources are actively used. 3. Mastering a foreign language with the use of modern computer technology shows a radical change in the organization of foreign language teaching. 4. The growing linguistic-didactic possibilities of information and communication technologies have not yet received a clear scientific and theoretical justification. 5. Mastering the method of application of information computer technologies in teaching foreign languages is one of the key factors in the success of informatization of higher language education.
