كتاب منهاج المريدين الى شرح منازل السائرين

An abridgment of the preceding work. As this is evidently the author’s own copy, and as it is written in the same hand as no. 679, the author appears to be ‘ALAWÎ B. ‘ABDALLAH بروم, who flourished in the earlier part of the twelfth century.

He says in his preface: الحمدلله الذى مدّ ظلّ كرمه مدّا واسعا على العباد ... اما بعد فانى لما رايت كتاب منازل السائرين للعارف بالله قدوة اولياء الله. عبد الله بن محمد الانصارى الهروى الشافعى قدس الله سره و نور ضريحه مع شرحه للامام العالم الربانى القاشانى (!) حاویَیْن لمقامات سائرين الى حضرة سيد السادات لكن كان فيهما التطويل الذى لا يناسب حال مريدى هذا الزمان و سالكى طريق الحبيب المنان اردت ان الخصهما مع وفور المرام لزيادة ما يناسب من الكلام بالطف الالفاظ الخ.

The greater part of the MS. is wanting; it terminates now in باب الرياضة (=fol. 19 of the preceding no.). There is a defect after fol. 18.
