Description

Hemipterochilus bembeciformis (Morawitz, 1867)

Odynerus bembeciformis Morawitz, 1867: 139–141, ♀ ♂ (type locality: “ Gouvernement von Saratow ” [Russia]).

Published records. Aliyeva (2010): 57.

Material examined. Sharur, Akhura, 39°33′N, 45°13′E, 1640 m, 13. VI.2019, 1 ♂ [CAFK], 1 ♂ [FSCV].

Distribution. Western, Southern, and Eastern Europe, Russia (European part, Urals), Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan.

Remarks. The complete synonymy is not listed here.There are two subspecies of Hemipterochilus bembeciformis besides the nominotypical one; one of them with three synonyms (van der Vecht & Fischer 1972). They require a revision since all of them may actually be synonymous.
