Differential diagnosis. Dinas angusticeps has narrow elongate elytra in male, and much wider and more oval elytra in female; rostrum is distinctly narrowed in the middle (Fig. 2A) (in contrast to Microspina species from the Southern Chain, see Table 2). Dinas angusticeps has more stout, apically widened and flattened, long erect setae on the whole elytra (Fig. 3D), than D. afonsoi sp. nov., which has stout, apically pointed, not flattened, long setae in apical third of elytra only (Fig. 3B) and to D. obsita which has only a few stout long erect setae on the whole elytra (D. sitonaeformis and D. pallipes lack erect setae (Fig. 3C)). Rostrum wide (the narrowest part) as its length (ratio 1: 1) (in contrast to D. angustula – rostrum slightly wider than its length (ratio 1: 0.83).
Bionomics. No data on biology are available for this species.
Distribution. Cape Verde Islands – São Nicolau (western part); only the type series is known for this species.
