Aceria Keifer, 1944

Type species. Eriophyes tulipae Keifer, 1938a: 185, 200.

Diagnosis. Body vermiform; scapular tubercles and setae on rear shield margin, scapular setae (sc) directed posteriorly; legs with usual segmentation and setae, empodium entire; opisthosoma with dorsoventral annuli subequal, with granules.

This genus consists of 900 species (Amrine et al. 2003) and is the biggest genus in the Eriophyoidea. Sixty-six of these have been recorded from Southeast Asia.
