Typhloseius Muma, 1961: 291. Type species: Amblyseiopsis sextus Garman, 1958: 92.

Typhlodromalus De Leon, 1966: 87.

Type species: Typhlodromus peregrinus Muma, 1955

Diagnosis. Margin of dorsal shield usually indented at level of setae S5 giving the posterior margin of the shield trilobate appearance, dorsal shield usually with strong reticulation or rugose ornamentation; sternal shield usually with posterior projection; female ventri-anal shield vase-shaped, often with lateral lobes at level of anus; some forward migration of setae JV2 and ZV2, setae JV1 inserted on anterior margin of shield; seta Z4 longer than distance between its base and that of seta S4; fixed digit of chelicera with large prominent teeth evenly distributed along digit; calyx of spermatheca broad; peritreme usually extending to level setae j1; male with three pairs of pre-anal setae arranged in a triangular pattern (Chant & McMurtry, 2005a).
