Description

Genus Dasyomphale LaSalle and Schauff

(figures 7, 26–28)

Dasyomphale LaSalle and Schauff, 1994: 255. Type species: Dasyomphale chilensis LaSalle and Schauff, by original designation.

Diagnosis

Mesoscutum and scutellum densely covered with short, decumbent setae, also with setae on median propodeum (figures 7, 27); fore wing (figure 7) densely and uniformly covered with dark setae, basal cell densely setose and speculum absent, anterior margin incised at apex of costal cell and marginal vein, submarginal vein with six to eight dorsal setae; gaster uniformly dark, tergites setose (figure 28).

A single species (D. chilensis) is known (figure 7). See LaSalle and Schauff (1994) for the description of this species.

Distribution Chile (LaSalle and Schauff, 1994).

Hosts

Unidentified Aleurodicinae on Quillaja saponaria (Rosaceae) (LaSalle and Schauff, 1994).
