Daphniidae Straus 1820

Description

Family Daphniidae Straus, 1820

Ceridaphnia acanthina Ross, 1897

Indian records. Rajasthan —Sharma R et al. (2011), Sharma V. et al. (2012).

Remarks. Doubtful record. C. acanthina was described from Manitoba, Canada (Ross 1897). Recently this species is not recognized as valid. Indian populations could form a specific taxon, but we cannot understand this without a global revision of the genus Ceriodaphnia, which is urgently needed.
