Synonyms: Ophiorhabdias horigutii (Yamaguti, 1943) Sharpilo, 1976; Rhabdias ophidia Goodey, 1924 sensu Hsu et Hoeppli, 1931.
Host: Rhabdophis tigrina (Reptilia: Serpentes: Colubridae).
Site: lung.
Distribution: Eastern Palaearctic, including Japanese Isles.
Description. Body length 4.21 (3.75–4.59) mm, maximum width 116 (100–141). Body cuticle thin. Cephalic lips large, almost hemispherical in lateral view, arranged in two lateral groups. Papillae of inner circle sharp, elongated. Buccal capsule absent. Oesophagus club-shaped, 313 (299–332) long, width of posterior bulb 59 (56– 62). Nerve ring at 181 (174–191) from anterior end of oesophagus (57.8 [53.8–62.2] % of oesophagus length). Excretory glands approximately as long as oesophagus. Intestine wide, thin-walled. Vulva at 1.92 (1.73–2.08) mm from anterior end (45.7 [43.0–48.1] % of general length). Vulva lips distinct. Uteri comparatively short, containing eggs with embryos on early cleavage stages. Eggs numbering 6 (3–13) in studied specimens. Egg size 72–90 × 42– 48 (after Yamaguti 1943). Tail narrow, elongated, 298 (232–323) long (7.1 [5.9–7.7] % of body length). Tail end tapered.
