Description

Corynoneura zempoala sp. n.

(Fig. 35)

Type material. Holotype male, MEXICO, Morelos, Parque Nacional Lagunas de Zempoala, Laguna de Zempoala, 24.ix.1998, net, T. Andersen et al., G. Ramirez prep., ZMBN n° chi 20096. Paratypes: eleven males same data as holotype but ZMBN n° 20088–20095 and n°20097–20099.

Etymology. This species is named after the type locality in Mexico. The specific epithet is treated as a noun in apposition.

Diagnostic characters. Corynoneura zempoala sp. n., is similar to the C. scutellata group of species as defined by Hirvenoja and Hirvenoja (1988). This species has gonostylus with a basal lobus as C. scutellata. The antenna with 10 flagellomeres, AR about 0.72–0.76, the median pointed sternapodeme, the shape of the aedeagal lobus and gonocoxite without inferior volsella segregate this species from other species of the group.
