Material examined. GHANA. 1/0/0, Inlet Volta River at Kpong, 6° 09.183N 0° 03.709 W, alt 25 m asl, 7-i-2010, leg. P. Wondergem; same location, 19/25/0, 10-iii-2011; 2/3/0, shallow part Amansuri Wetland, 4° 59.635 N 2° 35.417 W, 26-ii-2011; 1/1/0, Amansuri Wetland, 5° 00.398 N 2° 35.162 W, alt 12 m asl, 26-ii-2011; 3/4/0, fish pond along road Elubo-Axim, east of entrance Ankasa NP, 5° 09.637 N 2° 38.682 W, alt. 36 m asl, 27-ii-2011.

Remarks. Previously reported from Cameroon, Mali and Burkina Faso (see K. Viets 1953) and Liberia (as A. haliki, Cook 1966, see K.O. Viets 1972).

Published as part of Smit, H., 2012, New records of the water mite family Arrenuridae from the Afrotropical region, with the description of 11 new species and two new subspecies (Acari: Hydrachnidia), pp. 1-31 in Zootaxa 3187 on page 22
