Macrobiotus hyperonyx Maucci 1982

Description

Macrobiotus hyperonyx

(Figures 4D, 5C) Buccal tube has a clear bend in its anterior portion (just after the mouth opening). At this level, the animal has a large dorsal tooth on the inner surface of the buccal tube (Figure 5A, C), which was not cited in the original description (Maucci 1982). In lateral view, the ventral portion of the buccal tube is shorter and ends at the stylet sheaths.

Unlike the original description, the buccal armature comprises a posterior band of small teeth (transverse crests absent).
