Scolopocryptops melanostomus Newport, 1845

Type: locality. West Indies, Saint Vincent.

Exemplars examined. Chiapas: 12/IV/1968, in bromeliad, 2 exs., (new state record). Estado de México: Nanchititla National Park, 16/XII/2001, pine-oak forest, colls. O. Francke, E. González, 3 exs., (new state record). Veracruz: Cerro El Vigía, 18/II/1967, in bromeliad Vriesa gladioliflora, 1 ex.; Estación de Biología Los Tuxtlas, 16/XI/1968, 13/VIII/1969, and 10/I/1975, in bromeliad Aechmea bracteata, coll. C. R.B., 4 exs., (new state record).

Geographical distribution. Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Fiji, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Indonesia, México, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Puerto Rico, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, and Venezuela (Attems 1930, Chagas 2003, Minelli 2006).

Distribution in México. Chiapas, Estado de México, and Veracruz.
