United States: AR, CO, CT, DC (Rider 1996), FL, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA (Rider 1996), MA, MD (Rider 1996), ME, MI, MN (Rider 1996, Koch et al. 2014), MO, MT, NC, ND (Uhler 1878; Hussey 1922; Weber 1935; Rider 1996, 2012), NE, NH, NJ, NM (Rider 1996, Bundy 2012), NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SD (Parshley 1922, Harris 1937, Rider 1996), TN (Lambdin et al. 2003), TX, UT, VA (Rider 1996, Basnet et al. 2014), WA (Zack et al. 2012), WI, WV (Rider 1996), WY (Rider 1996).
Comments: Of the three species of Coenus, this species is the most common and widespread, occurring throughout the U.S. and southern Canada, except it is not known from Arizona, California, or Oregon.
