From Venom to Medicine: Molecular Dynamics of PLA2
Description
In this research proposal, a new and possible way to control leishmaniasis is revealed, using enzymes present in snake venom called: Fofolipases A2 (sPLA2s), which exert a variety of pharmacological effects, ranging from neurotoxicity to anti-HIV activity, by mechanisms that are not yet fully understood.
