The role of Persistent Identifiers and the PID-Graph for NFDI

The presentation gives an introduction to DataCite's mission to provide persistent identifiers (PIDs) for scholarly communication. The first part deals with the PID Graph that connects several PID systems and makes new services such as DataCite Commons possible. The second part is about the projects ORCID DE, re3data and ROR in which DataCite is involved in. The third part is about PID infrastructure in Germany.
