Description

Rhinogobius Gill, 1859

Gobius brunneus Temminck & Schlegel, 1845. The species was considered a junior synonym of Glossogobius giuris by Koumans (1953). The species is now recognised as a valid species of Rhinogobius (see for example Suzuki et al. 2017).
